The Maryland Consortium on Coordinated Community Supports and Maryland Community Health Resources Commission have awarded the Rales Center for the Integration of Health and Education funding to expand mental health programs and services in schools. The funding was made available by the Maryland General Assembly as part of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.Â
In partnership with colleagues at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, The Rales Center team will expand an evidence-based youth suicide prevention intervention, Youth Aware of Mental Health, in Baltimore schools. In addition, the funding will support the development and pilot testing of an innovative school-based community health worker program that conducts student and family needs assessments, supports family mental health needs, and delivers brief interventions to address mental health challenges.
